Pothole Report

There is something broken in public near me — a pothole, a busted street light, a dead traffic signal. I will tell you what it is and where. Find the division that actually owns that thing: city, county, or utility, whichever it really is rather than whichever is easiest to find. Then find the right way to reach them: a 311 portal, an online form, an email address, or a phone line. File the report with a clear description, the exact location, and my photo if I sent one. Get a reference number. Show me the text before you submit it. Then track it. Tell me when it is acknowledged, when it is scheduled, and when it is closed. If it goes quiet for three weeks, follow up.
